Voller Vorfreude erwarteten wir den September 2020. Dann nämlich sollten wir endlich spezifische Projekte der Landwirtschaft und Arbeit mit Waisen-und Strassenkinder in Sambia besuchen. Etwa drei Wochen vor der Abreise mussten wir erfahren, dass es im Jahr 2020 aufgrund von Corona nicht mehr möglich sein wird, uneingeschränkt einzureisen.
Nun standen unsere Pläne für einen Moment Kopf. Doch gerade in dieser Herausforderung durften wir weiter unsere Schritte Gott anvertrauen. Unser "Fernziel" im August 2021 für länger nach Sambia zu reisen, steht noch. Jedoch klären sich einige Fragen für uns bis dahin nicht wie gewünscht. Die Spannung bleibt. Nun freunden wir uns mit dem Gedanken an, in das Land zu ziehen, ohne genau zu wissen wohin, wie die Leute sind, wie die Kultur ist, wie wir dort wohnen werden, bei welchen Projekten wir mit involviert oder gar führend sein werden... Einzelne Kontakte mit lokalen Personen werden uns helfen, so gut wie möglich ein Bild vom Leben vor Ort zu bekommen.
Full of anticipation we were expecting September 2020, when we would finally visit specific projects of agriculture and work with orphans and street children in Zambia. About three weeks before our departure we had to learn that in 2020 it will no longer be possible to enter Zambia without restrictions due to Corona.
Now our plans were turned upside down for a moment. But just in this challenge we were allowed to continue to entrust our steps to God. Our "distant goal" in August 2021 to travel to Zambia for a longer period of time still stands. However, some questions for us will not be clarified as desired until then. The tension remains. Now we are happy with the thought of moving to the country without knowing exactly where, how the people are, what the culture is like, how we will live there, in which projects we will be involved or even leading... Individual contacts with local people will help us to get as good a picture as possible of the local life.
